Last weekend I attended the 10th anniversary celebration of the sale of a company I worked for early in my career. 10 years ago, BALR corporation, the company I worked for was sold to Whittman-Hart. WH in it's quest for world domination of the internet professional services business merged with USweb/CKS to become marchFIRST. The name comes from the date of that company's founding March 1, 2000. marchFIRST ended up imploding and continues to serve as one of the poster children for the excesses of the dot com bubble. It's also perhaps a contributing factor to why I don't have that sailboat I've always wanted. But, I digress. It's amazing how much you remember about people you worked with 10 yrs ago but haven't seen since then. I had a great time reconnecting as we regaled each other about what we remember of ourselves back then. I guess your life is pretty much an open book when you are locked up in a conference room for 6 months. Man we were young back then. On our last day in San Diego we spent the morning at the Wild Animal Park and the rest at the beach. Yes this was our second trip to the wild animal park; we are just that crazy about animals. Micah also learned the consequences of eating sand the hard way; a rather vigorous cleaning at the hands of dad.  Write Comment (0 comments) |

After three days of walking our tails off, we decided to chill at the hotel for most of the day; the latter part of the day was reserved for Mom's shopping extravaganza. Micah commandeered the closet for a play room.   Write Comment (0 comments) |

We spent day 4 at the San Diego Zoo. There are an unbelivable variety of animals and plants to see. As you'll see from the pictures, we spent a lot of time in front of the elephant enclosure.  Write Comment (0 comments) |

We spent most of today at sea world ...walking around, taking in the shows, and chowing down on popcorn.

| Up at 5 to head off to SAN. Micah's at the point where he pretty much keeps himself entertained. |  | An hour and half after we landed at SAN we checked into the in-n-out for a real burger. If you've never lived out west, you dont know what you're missing. |
