I decided to go with the election and economy theme this halloween. Heck, I can't think of anything scarier than watching the dow go down the tubes. The soccer ball's for Micah.

Micah officially turned ONE today! I worked from home to be able to spend a few extra hours with him and Mary Beth. We didn't do anything special; in a way today was almost a non-event after all the hustle and bustle in getting ready for Micah's party last week and then the party itself on saturday. By saturday evening all our guests had left and on sunday we dropped off Michelle at the airport. We are now back to being just us; a family of four.
It's hard to believe just a year ago we were trying to cope with some rather trying circumstances, but God has been very good to us. We're also incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful community of family and friends who're always there for us.
Lately I've often sat in Micah's room rocking him back to sleep; he's teething and fighting a cold, wondering what kind of person he's going to grow up into. More than anything I want him to know that his parents love him very, very much and will always be there for him. But more importantly than that I want him to know that his God loves him unconditionally. That no matter what life throws at him, he can always rely on God to see him through. Since he's my son, I'm confident he's going to reach great heights. And alas, since he's my son he's probably going to make his share of mistakes. After all, they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Write Comment (0 comments) |

Here's a lost clip from our vacation a few months ago. A few months, sigh... it feels like a year ago. Everything you see in the drawers was hauled over in a couple or suitcases. As you can see we made good use of the 52" plasma tv in the room. Write Comment (0 comments) |

I've loved soccer as long as I can remember, although where I grew up we called it football. I'm certain Micah is going to turn out to be just as passionate about soccer as I am. And he's going to grow up to be a heckuva a striker one day. Just check out his dribbling skills. Maybe he'll even turn out to be a gunner. Write Comment (0 comments) |
