Happy new year everyone! We began the last day of 2007 with a visit to the pediatrician so Micah could get his vaccinations. He got 4 shots and one oral vaccine. Not suprisingly the whole process was harder on his mom; Micah handled it like a champ. He now weighs 8 lbs and 9 ounces, just a hair under double his birth weight. Later in the evening we headed out with some friends to Bangkok village, a little thai place, in Naperville for dinner. Dinner was great but we had to leave in a hurry when Micah had his fill of sitting in his car seat and made it clear he wanted to be back home. We spent the rest of the evening at home waiting for midnight to roll around feasting on desserts, playing catch phrase, and watching our friends down rather large quantities of Moscato d’Asti... no not really. At the appointed hour we poped champagne and watched a home-made fireworks display in the snow outside from the warmth and safety of the living room. Thanks to Evan who served as the official fireworks lighter. I hope you were able to say farewell to 2007 and celebrate the new year with friends and family. Of all the things Mary Beth and I have been blessed with, one of the best is a group of friends to go through this thing called life. I hope you are similarly blessed and if not, I hope you resolve this year to be very intentional in either creating or joining a community that you can be a part of. Write Comment (0 comments) |
