We spent sunday evening with some new friends who just returned from Azeribaijan getting a taste of Azeri culture. For example:

• The capital is Baku
• The official language is Azeri
• Azeribaijan is ranked 19 on the list of countries with the world top oil reserves. And the top 20 account for 90% of all reserves.
• Although the majority of its citizens are Moslem, it is a secular state.
• Although it borders Iran, it is largely unaffected by extremism.
• Tea is the drink of choice, they drink it ALL the time.
• Azeris dont put sugar in their tea. They hold a cube of sugar or hard candy between their teeth or under their tongue and sip.
• To insult someone just say, ''he didnt even offer me tea''.
• Azeris love to dance.
