For the past few years I''ve been on a recycling kick, I''ve loaded up our recycling bin with everything I think can be recycled; every single scrap of paper, bottles, cans, and plastics of all kinds. This weekend I decided to throw out some old shirts. They were pretty worn out so I didn''t think it made any sense to drop them of at Goodwill. Not wanting to throw them in the trash and thinking they were recyclable, I stuck them in the recycling bin. Apparently our garbage man must be tiring of my attempt to recycle everything and having to sort it all out. Mary Beth came home this afternoon to find my shirts strewn all over our front yard. There are two schools of thought on what happened here. I think our garbage man thinking I had mistakenly placed my shirts in the bin took them out, put them on the lawn, and the wind blew them all over the yard. Mary Beth thinks the garbage man wanting to teach me a lesson scattered my shirts all over our yard. Whatever the reason, I''ve learned an important lesson. Regardless of how much I may want to recycle everything, there just isn''t a market for all of it yet. I''ll try to stick to the city of Aurora''s list of what''s recyclable. Receiving the news at work...
